Xiomara Nieves

Birthplace: My name is Xiomara Miluska Nieves Castro. My parent's names are Juan Esteban Nieves Meza and Maribel Nolbeta Castro Valverde I only have 1 brother: Juan Diego (14). I was born on January 2, 1987 in the district of Cerro Colorado which is in the province of Arequipa , in the department of Arequipa , Peru .

How I came to know Christ: I was born into a Catholic home where my father was very devoted to the Lord of Miracles and the “Virgen of Chapi”. He would make pilgrimages and take us with him. He even paid money to carry the Lord of Miracles idol. My parents came to a parting of ways due to a bad investment that my mother made, economically speaking. We did not make enough money which caused my mother to leave to French Guyana for 2 years and a half. She later came back when she found out that I was pregnant. She has been here ever since and has helped to raise my daughter. My daughter is 2 years and 8 months old. At that time I was afraid that if either of us were to die we would go to Hell. The fact that my mother was saved was something that caused me to start looking for a church that could direct my daughters life. I visited the Mormons, the Pentecostals the Jehovah Witnesses and finally by the Grace of God I came to Lighthouse Baptist Church where at a service I came to know Christ as my personal Saviour.

My Calling into the Ministry: One year after my graduation I saw many people graduating, ready and prepared for serving the Lord full time. The Lord touched my heart upon seeing to serve him full time. I had already taken the step of baptism so after fulfilling the advice of my pastor in this matter; I saw God open doors wide open. This is how in August of 2005 I went to the Seminary and have been here for a semester preparing for the honour and glory of God. I love the Macedonia Baptist Seminary. It has helped me in the ability to teach, my awareness and in the area of my character. Inside the women internship everything has been great because there are several girls from my church that are helping me a lot.

My Plans for the Future: I would like to do something great with the young ladies if God would permit it. I would like to be the helpmeet for my husband. I would like to create a relationship with young ladies in order to help prepare them for the ministry and provide spiritual growth. I would also like to be in charge of some kind of internship not just for the normal aspect of the ministry but in order to impart to them the Word of God that would greatly train them for the ministry. I would like to be a missionary's wife. I am praying about Africa and if that is where God want me! Amen!
