Birthplace: My name is Soledad Mamani Chino, my parents are: Julian Gervasio Mamani Quispe and Juana Chino Choquenayra. We are 2 brothers: Me (17), and Dante (14). I was born February 25 th 1988, in the district of Sicuani of the Province of Cusco and the department of Cusco – Peru .
How I came to know Christ: I was born in a catholic home that didn't follow any of the rules of the Catholic Church much less the Bible. While at home, I remember that my parents were devoted to the Rose saint of Lima and many other saints. This meant that we had to go to the town for two days and we would return and we would drink and dance. When my father would get sick we would have to make payments to the earth so that he would heal, thinking that we had failed it in our devotion. My father got sick of his feet and he was told that he could be healed for sure in Arequipa , so we traveled to Arequipa , Peru were he indeed got healed. We settled in the neighborhood of Alto Cayma, and since my parents had already received Christ, they looked for a Church that taught the Bible. This is how we found “Eternal Life” Baptist Church which is the church that my family goes to till today. In one of the services the preacher preached about rebellious young people that didn't honor their parents and he challenged us to make a decision to receive Christ, which I did that very night.
How Christ has changed my Life: As soon as I trusted Christ my life changed suddenly. I started being obedient with my parents, I didn't waste my time with my friends in the streets, and I wouldn't stay out late with them, I changed my way of dressing and my appearance. In school I started to mark a difference and to share with my classmates what God had done in my life. I showed them what God could do with a person that was surrendered to Him. I started to love God and to go to church. I got involved in the ministries inside the church like the nursery, cleaning and then working with children. All of my family is saved but my distant relatives not yet. I pray for them and for their salvation. I hope that God gives me the opportunity to reach every one of them because I have a big family.
My Calling into the Ministry: While I was serving in different ministries in my church, all of a sudden God touched my Heart through last years Youth Congress and then God reconfirmed his calling in a camp in the town of Vitor . When I got home my mom didn't want me to dedicate myself to the work of the ministry, instead she wanted me to have a career like my cousins. On the other hand my dad was behind me, but I still had to wait three months for God to change my mom's heart. At the end of this time she let me go knowing for sure that was the will of God that I follow Him and serve Him. So in March of this year I came to the Seminary to start my highly anticipated training. Till now the Seminary has been a place where I can learn and correct the many things that I still need to fix in my life. I learn how to love God more, how to serve God fulltime and how to be more effective in my service within the church. About finances, I am working to supply my needs with temporal jobs and also with gifts that I receive. Sometimes God works in my parents and they give me money for my expenses. Consequently I am trusting in the hand of God to supply my needs.
My Future Plans: Within my plans, first I World like to teach sign language and then go and witness to my Dads family in Cusco . I would like to start several ministries in my church like nursery, children's classes, Sunday school for young ladies where I can teach everything that I learned here and prepare them so that they can teach others also. would like to marry a pastor-missionary and be a helpmeet for him according to the will of God. |
