Birthplace: My name is Sigrid Urday Bustinza and I am 17 years old. My parents are Walter Urday Montes and Silvia Bustinza Caballero. I have one brother and his name is Abner Urday Bustinza. I was born on November 2nd in Arequipa, Peru. I live with my parents in Hunter and I am a member of Hunter Baptist Church.

How I came to know Christ: When I was a little girl, my family suffered from a broken home. My family remained separated when my father abandoned our home and left us completely alone. Walking with my mom down the street, I wanted to go to school ( I did not know that it was a church) and so my mom let me go in. They started inviting us to co me to the church. So we left our old church, the Peruvian Evangelical Church. A little later, my sister and my mom’s family went to the church and with time and effort my uncle also came. We moved into our in-laws house where I live now. I am starting to witness to this family. Today I am studying in the Macedonia Baptist Bible College. My mom works with ladies that have lost their husbands or that have problems in their homes. My brother married a Christian lady. I have two half brothers by my father. My father and his other wife are attending the new church out of Hunter Baptist called Smyrna Baptist Church. My uncle Daniel is a pastor and teacher in the Bible College. My aunt has a prayer ministry in our church. Thanks be to God!

How Christ has changed my Life: My life took another turn after I accepted Christ at 6 years of age but that did not change the acts of hostility toward my dad. I couldn’t bear the fact that I never had a father for myself but my mom taught me that the greatest lesson, “Forgiveness”, to forgive my dad. I stopped having bitterness in my life. Then, I started my first ministry, visitation. After that I learned to play the piano with a missionary named Alicia Smith. After she left, I took over the piano for to continue playing it in the church. Then, the day came when I became the official pianist in my church. I also help in the young ladies class with my teacher, Silvia Mendoza.

My Calling into the Ministry: Like any person, I had lost strength in my spiritual growth arriving at an unpleasant relationship with God. But our God, who is a God of opportunities, and my wise pastor, Miguel Murillo, helped me to succeed. I started with my wish to prepare myself in the seminary with two ideas in my mind. The first one is “I want to be like Silvia Mendoza” and the other is “I can’t imagine working without being in the ministry.” That is why I am here and this is my first year in the Seminary.

My Plans for the Future: I love music and my desire is to worship God with this ministry but I want to be a missionary or a pastor’s wife. For this, I am preparing to learn to teach every young lady and woman. I also have a desire to work with the deaf. I want to serve God. Thank you very much, brothers and sisters in Christ, for all that you do. “Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as ye know your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
