Birthplace: My name is Lucy Aguilar Ccama, my parents are Isidro Aguilar Tacuri and Silvia Quispe Ccama. There are 3 siblings and 2 younger half-siblings—Me (24), Marlene (22), Alex (29), Yanet Flores (14) and Snayder (12). I was born on June 6 th , 1980, in the Santa Rosa District, in the Province of Melgar , in the Department of Puno, Peru .
How I came to know Christ: I was born in a mixed family, where my father was an Adventist and my mother was a Catholic. When we attended, we would go to the Adventist church. My mother wouldn't go, but we children went regularly. My father died when I was only 6 years old; my mother told me that he was Adventist. He died in a climactic accident, where a beam reached him. I don't remember much of his death; but, as a result of this, in a home with a widow and orphans, we had economic complications and all the responsibility of the home fell on my mother. She started to work in the business world as a business woman, selling everything in different cities, including Arequipa , Juliaca, and Cusco . When I was 9 years old, my mother decided to remarry; and, with a stepfather in the house, it was very hard for us to get along. Our stepfather treated us well, in an incredible way. One of my younger brothers invited me to church at the Victory Baptist Church ; and, through the ministry of this church, I accepted the Lord when I understood that Christ alone saves.
How God has changed my life: As a result of my salvation, I realized that many of the things that I was doing were not right, I began to change them. My life is full of joy because I have found new life in Christ. I began to change the type of music that I listened to because of the lessons that were given in the youth meetings, and this was vital for me. These were the most notorious. I stopped working in a place where many things were done that were not pleasing to God, like the internet, and such things. God gave me the discernment I needed in order to be able to realize all the things where I was failing. I started to help in the young ladies' ministry, in the children's ministry, and in the nursery, among others.
My Calling into the Ministry: As I was serving in the work of God, at the beginning, they prepared me in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ; so, I prayed very much to God that He would direct me. Being as how I am an older young lady, it was not very easy for me to make the decision to dedicate myself to full-time ministry. After I had been praying for one year, I spoke with my parents, and they did not believe me and did not support me. My mother did not accept my decision; but with time, God worked in her heart; then, later, I spoke with my pastor who gave me his support and finally I came to study at the Seminary. I enrolled in August of this year. Until now, the Seminary has been one of the greatest blessings, I feel very privileged to be here. The most difficult thing was to take things in order, for the policy that is used in constant discipline. Economically speaking, I work and finance my expenses; God has been faithful with me providing my necessities and also to give me work from different ways.
My Plans for the Future: My goal is to become a Bible teacher in the place where God puts me, and that God would give me the privilege to be a pastor's wife, in order to help him in the ministry. I would like to also help in a Christian school. I keep praying that the Lord will direct me. |
