BirthPlace: My name is Karen Miranda Lazo. My parents names are Francisco Chavez and Sabina de Miranda. I have 3 sisters. Juliana ( 21) Liliana (21) Guadalupe (11) I am from the province of Arequipa , Peru .
How I came to know Christ: I started going to church when I was 6 years old and continued going until I was 10 years old. We attended Hunter Baptist church in brasilia with my cousins and uncles. When we moved, we started going to the evangelical church until I was 16 years old. Ever since then I have been praying for my family to come and know Christ as their personal Savior. My parents went to the Catholic Church and my sisters went to the Getsenani Church and prayed about getting my parents to go there as well. I made a promise to God that if my mother went to the Getsenani Baptist church I would also switch to that church as well. God heard my prayer and we switched churches. I am praying for my father cousins, uncles and aunts that don't want anything to do with God or with the church. I pray that God will be able to get to them and use them for his service. I was saved at 19 years old while at a young people's banquet at the Getsenani Baptist church. I was baptized when I was 19 years old and form that moment on I faithfully attended Getsenani Baptist church.
How Christ changed my life: After receiving Christ and getting baptized my life started to change little by little as well as my character also began to change. I was put over the nursery ministry and the maintenance ministry in the church. I found out about the seminary through one of my sisters who invited me to the first youth congress along time ago. That was where I was encouraged to study in the seminary. After finishing High school I was able to go into what I really love which is the seminary and learn about God.
My future Plans: I would like to finish the seminary and get involved more in teaching the children at my church, so that I can put into practice all that I have learned at the seminary. I want God to greatly use me in the ministry. Finally if God wants and brings someone into my life I want to be a help meet for him and be able to serve God together. “Everything that we do is for God and we should do it with our whole heart.” |
