Birthplace: My name is from Isabel Calcina Ala. I am 16 years old. My parents are Biuiano Calcina Ifusaca and Neria Ala Suni. My father is 60 years old and my mother is 40. I have 2 sisters; the first is Delia Calcia Ala (18) and the second is Lizbeth Calcina Ala (15). I was born in Arequipa in the district of Cayarani.
How I came to know Christ: The first time that I went to church I was 8 years old. As an 8-year-old, I had not been rebellious, I was a little girl, but as a child I always was into mischief. I was a shy girl; but, when I knew the place and the people, I was very mischievous. One day, when I moved to “Selva Alegre” (a section of Arequipa ), my neighbor named Jorge came and invited me to church for a contest. So, I went and liked it; and I began to go. I met a sister there named Yuli. She was the person that I loved and admired the most because she was very good. I also admired that she strengthened herself through going to church to disciple, visit, and do great things for God. She was involved because she had a great love for the work. She visited me with my pastor, Ricardo Calcino and his wife Elizabeth. Yuli spoke to me of Christ, witnessed to me; and I accepted Christ after time passed and the church changed pastors.
My Calling into the Ministry: Pastor Julio Marquina; his wife, Paola; and his daughter, Nicole helped me and counseled with me. Pastor Julio baptized me; and, after a little while, he went to Venezuela . I admired Pastor Julio, his strength, the way he preached, that fire, that strength; he greatly helped me with several decisions. I was still in school when I felt that God had called me to the ministry, because I saw many young ladies who did not know what they were doing, nor did they know what they were going to do in the future and many of them had no idea of what they were going to do in the future. Many of them did not know that they were sinning and that they were suffering. This motivated me to enroll in the seminary to prepare myself in order to be able to help each one of the girls. The person who helped motivate me to enroll in the Seminary was sister Celia Flores, the wife of my pastor, Jonathan Arismende. Both of them motivated me to follow, helped me, supported me, and counseled with me.
My Plans for the Future: I would like to work in my church, and cause my church to grow so that it would be big. I would like to see people accept Christ as their personal Savior and become leaders. My goal is to have a home for single mothers. |
