Birthplace: My name is Rut Mendoza Ccuno. My parents names are Miguesl Angel Mendoza Apaza and Maria Ccuno Condori. I have 6 siblings and their names are: Edith(30), Edwin(28), Ester(26), Giovanna(25), Renee(19), and Rocio(17). I was born on October 29, 1982 in the district of Hunter which is in the Province and Department of Arequipa, Peru.
How I came to know Christ: I was born into a Catholic family. I did not live with my parents because since we were so many children they could not support us. I grew up in my grandparent’s house. When I was 4 years old I had reconstructive surgery on my face after being attacked by a dog. However I was never able to completely recover. I was raised in my grandparent’s house until I was 16. I had a calm childhood although since I didn’t have the security and comfort of being with my parents I struggled with uncertainty. At 9 years of age I heard a preaching by Pastor Carlos Marquina and received Christ as my personal Saviour. Almost all of my family has been saved but sometimes they’re lifestyle does not show that they are true believers. I am still praying for them and for my lost relatives.
How Christ has changed my Life: After receiving Christ my life did not change because I was never discipled but I came back to Arequipa at 17 years of age. Silvia Mendoza visited my house and started to disciple me and started to invite me to church. I started going to Sunday school and to grow spiritually. I got involved in the different ministries of the church and continued to mature in the church.
My Calling into the Ministry: After a time I came to realize that God wanted me to dedicate my life to the ministry. After attending the first Youth Congress I decided to go study there. My parents thought it was great but did not help me out financially at all. I went to study there in August of 2001. The Seminary has been a place that has helped me prepare to work full time in the ministry. I was taught the deep things of the Bible and all the other necessary things to help me carry out the work of God. I am taught how to face the rigors of the ministry and everything else that may come along. I graduated along with my class of 25 students in 2004 I have been working in the Hunter Baptist Church with Pastor Miguel Murillo Ramos for about a year now. I am now working as the administration secretary of the Macedonia Baptist Seminary. I am working in a youth Sunday school class and help out at the Patch the Pirate club every Thursday. God has really blessed with about t30 children in the Patch the Pirate club and our youth attendance averages around 30 as well every Friday. In the Ladies Sunday School class we average around 8-10 in attendance. We’re going through a growing period at my church. The children’s ministry is also spreading out its activities to also include a skits campaign every month.
My Plans for the Future: I wasn’t to continue to learn how to work in the young ladies classes in order to help other churches as well. This can be done by training other ladies that could then go to their own church and help out with what they have learned. I believe God has given me the talent to teach and help others to become people who will help others. If it is God’s will I would like to get married and go wherever God would lead us. |
