Birthplace: My name is Maria Beltran Ramos. My parent's names are Francisca Ramos and Maritrini Meza Galindo. I have 3 siblings: Alberto(31), Vicente (29), and Isela (28). I was born on Octobre 6, 1972 in Cuautemoc , Mexico , in the Federal District .
How I came to know Christ: I was born in a family of professing Catholics. The kind that had to go to mass every week and follow every rule that they gave us in order to be saved or at least to have hope. We lived a completely nominal life and we suffered much because of traditionalism, infidelities, and the drunkenness which cursed an endless immaturity in me that continued to enslave me even after getting married. I got married at 19 and there was much immaturity inside our marriage. After a year of marriage we had our first daughter and started to have a ton of problems. My mom was like a thorn in the flesh to us and made our problems multiply. While still in Mexico we had our second daughter. I decided to immigrate to the United States in 1999. I later brought my family over to the U.S. and began to work in an enslaving job. I had two night jobs and one day job so I was only at my house to sleep. This of course only brought on more problems. 4 years later (2002) we came to know about the Word of God. I was saved through reading a tract that told me that I was a sinner and needed a Savoir. I received Christ alone, at my house. Thank God that my whole family is saved including brothers in law, parents and siblings. That has great a huge blessing I am still praying for my mothers family and the rest of my uncles.
How Christ has changed my Life: We began to attend Madison Baptist Church . Pastor Alberto Puente Navarro began to disciple me. My wife was already saved as were my daughter and we soon began to grow in the way of the Lord. We went to all the services on Sundays. Then on Thursdays too until little by little we began to go to every program of the church. The changes in my life were positive for me and for my family. I stopped drinking, smoking and going to parties. I even changed in those things that are not seen of y character and I began to turn into a caring father and a loving husband. I quit one of my jobs so that I could dedicate more time to my family, my children and my home in general. I took time to attend all the services and I started to take interest those spiritual things that I had never thought had any importance.
My Calling into the Ministry: On a Thursday, while still growing spiritually a missionary presented his work with slides. This American missionary was going to work in Spain and he did not yet speak Spanish but he was very excited. Then Pastor Alberto preached on missions and God touched my heart in such a definite way that I decided to surrender my life to serve God full time in the ministry. I went to study in the Institute at the church and took 2 classes on doctrines and Christology. Although I had quit one job, my faith began to grow and God gave us the certainty that He would give us what was necessary to do His will. Even when we started to give our faith missions, we never saw our financial status decline. While at another mission's conference, pastor Ronald Tubillas and Julio Marquina spoke also on missions. They were the ones that informed our pastor about the Macedonia Baptist Seminary in Peru . Initially it was my brother Vicente that had come to study here and thank God my family and I have also come this same year.
My Plans for the Future: My short term plans are to adequately finish my preparation. After that I would like to go back to Mexico to start a work in my town: San Mateo Huiltzilzingo. There I would like to begin a cell Bible study to work with the people and then with God's help start a church. |
