My name is Alberto Cutipa Vilca. I am 23 years old. My fathers name is Aurelio (40), mother Antonia (43), and my two sisters Jessica (16) and Maria (7). I was born July 18, 1982 en the District of Hunter, Arequipa-Peru.
How I came to know Christ: I continue to pray for my father and little sisters. My father is a person that has no care of knowing anything about the church. The only thing of importance to him is work and money. I take my little sister to Sunday school but my dad doesn't like that. In spite of everything, I always pray for my family and I know God will change them.
I was born in a wealthy family. Both my father and my mother worked at home. My father never liked for me to play with other kids. He only wanted me to work. I came in one day and they accused me falsely of stealing some money. They wanted to take me to a minor's reformatory. My father always beat me with wires, belts or whatever he could reach. My life as an adolescent was horrible, that is why I decided to commit suicide. I tried to but it didn't work, wishing I could die. Then one day they falsely accused me of lying and kicked me out of the house. That's when I went to live alone.
How I came to know Christ: I lived alone in Hunter having nothing and no one. I found myself depressed and in my mind I thought only of death. Some time passed and my aunt and my cousin invited me to church. I didn't want to go because I didn't like it and I made fun of my cousin by saying there goes the “Brother”. One day for some reason I had the desire to go to church. It was actually funny because my mom happened to send me to do something else, but I really wanted to go to church. So I did that quickly and got to church late. Although I arrived to church late, that was the day I received Christ in my heart. It has been seven years and I continue my walk with the Lord with great goals.
My Calling into the Ministry: It was in a conference when God made me see the need and I received the call to work in his ministry. I made the decision to go study in the seminary where I found great spiritual help to prepare me for the work. It's a great blessing to me that there is a seminary where men and women can prepare for the ministry. Sometimes there is nothing to eat and not a lot of material to read, but God is always blessing me because of my decision to do it all for God in order to reach this world for him.
My Plans for the Future: One of my goals is to reach Hunter for Christ. If I don't start at home, how can I go other places? After finishing the seminary, I want to go out as a missionary. Although, God has not yet given me a place to work, I know He will in His time. Until then I will continue in prayer and fasting and working hard for my God. I have great dreams and I know that they will not just stay as dreams because I have a God that will allow me to accomplish them. |
